What We Believe

“A declaration of those things most surely believed among us.”  Luke 1:1

  • We believe in the infallible verbal inspiration of the Authorized King James Version (KJV) Bible only. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
  • The Triune (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) God. Matthew 28:19
  • The Genesis account of Creation.
  • The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ. Matthew 1:20
  • The Deity of Jesus Christ. John 10:30
  • The vicarious sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 2:9
  • That salvation is wholly of grace through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8), and that all believers are preserved eternally. (1 Peter 1:5, John 10:27-30)
  • The bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus, and the bodily resurrection of His saints (I Corinthians 15), the second coming of Jesus Christ, personally and bodily, as the crowning event of this Gentile age (Acts 1:11), to set up his kingdom in earth and to rule upon the earth one thousand (1,000) years. (Revelation 20:6)
  • The Bible doctrine of eternal punishment of the finally impenitent. (Matthew 25:46)
  • A Scriptural church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, covenanted together under the New Testament law for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission, with an unbroken history from the personal ministry of Jesus on earth to this present day. (Acts 2:42-47, Acts 1:8, Acts 4:32-37)
  • We hold what true Baptist have ever held: That the Great Commission was given to the churches only; that each church should exercise equal authority, and that the churches should meet their responsibilities according to their several abilities. (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15)
  • All cooperation bodies, such as associations, conventions, boards, committees, etc., are and properly should be servants of the churches. (Matthew 20:25-28)
  • Scriptural baptism is immersion of believers, administered by a New Testament church; the Lord’s Supper is a memorial ordinance restricted to faithful Christian church members. (I Corinthians 11:27-29, I Corinthians 10:21)
  • We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning; that marriage is sanctioned by decree of God as given in Genesis 2:24, that marriage is a union between one man and one woman.  We accept no other form or definition of marriage.
  • We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are Biblically united in marriage.  We hold that all sexual immorality (adultery, fornication, incest, pornography, same sex unions and all other immoralities) is sinful and contrary to the  KJV of God’s Word. (Matthew 24:36-41, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
  • We believe that all church members should strive to walk  together in Christian love; to promote the spirituality of the Church; to walk circumspectly in the world, and to live faithfully to the founder and head of the church, Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:10-11, Ephesians 4:11-14)
